The Well of North Louisiana began as a group of invested volunteers meeting the needs in our foster care system on a practical level -- partnering with our local family service agency to meet physical needs of biological families, creating places of community for lonely foster parents, seeking to educate caregivers to better care for children who have experienced trauma.
As this work grew, a bigger need became evident. All families need resources and community. To serve the foster care system well, we wanted to engage both restoratively and preventatively. We want to offer a support system where people are seen and celebrated — to create a place where the most vulnerable and overlooked in our community find belonging. We believe in building restorative relationships so no one has to navigate life alone.
