Update from The Well Regarding COVID-19

IMG_1953.jpg

At The Well, we often say that proximity changes things. However, these are unprecedented times. Never before has loving our neighbor looked like creating physical distance. Right now, the best way that we can love our neighbors is by practicing social distancing so we can all do our part to help flatten the curve. This is how we can best preference the vulnerable in our city over ourselves. Our team is working diligently to adapt our programming to serve our city while practicing social distancing.

  1. We have canceled all classes and events until further notice. Many of our members at Homer 413 are in the high-risk population and we do not want to put them at risk by gathering even in smaller groups.

  2. This week we offered grocery pick up for individuals and families. Next week we will began delivery service for groceries and essential resources.

  3. We launched an online Facebook group for Family Village, our community around foster care and adoption. In partnership with Clint Davis Counseling, we will provide parents with trauma-informed information about navigating this crisis with children who have experience past trauma. If you are a foster or adoptive parent who is interested in joining this group, please send us a message.

  4. We are working with the Department of Children & Family Services to meet emergency needs and plan for the long term effects that this crisis will have on vulnerable families.

Look for another blog post coming soon about how you can love your neighbors while staying home. We hope to provide you with specific ways that you and your family can love the vulnerable in our city even while being physically distanced.
