Loving our Neighbors during COVID-19

Hello Neighbor Graphic-01.jpg

As we are all navigating this unique season, we have great opportunities to love our neighbors and show up for the marginalized in our city, while practicing social distancing. We are urging everyone to stay home, if at all possible.

The mission of The Well has always been to serve some of the most vulnerable in our community and to love our neighbors well. Many in our city are experiencing significant economic stress due to school and work closures. We want to care for our neighbors, but we do not want to cause any harm. We are taking every precaution to limit physical interactions and encouraging everyone to stay home. We have a few specific ways that you can help to carry this burden.

  1. Please do not make any extra trips out to pick up items! If you already have extra or are doing a pick up, we are still collecting pantry items. You can drop items off at 500 W. Georgia Ave. (there is a basket outside the front door) or 2301 N. Trenton Street (there is a basket under the breezeway).

Items needed: Peanut butter, tuna, canned chicken, granola bars, canned fruit, spaghetti o’s, peanut butter or cheese crackers, boxes of cereal, rice, grits, canned fruit, toilet paper, paper towels

  2. You can give financially to help us purchase more groceries as items become available. This is a great way to love your neighbor from home!

  3. We are working with a Medical Director to follow strict protocols for the childcare being provided. If you have signed up for a meal spot for childcare and you or anyone in your family is sick, please do not bring prepared food. Contact us and we will make sure that your meal gets taken care of.

We will be using extreme caution to minimize exposure while meeting these needs. We’ll have labeled drop off stations set up for pantry items (500 W. Georgia Ave outside the front door & 2301 N. Trenton St under breezeway) as well as for lunch and snack food (2301 N. Trenton Street children’s ministry entrance) to minimize the physical contact during deliveries. We will be picking up from these drop off locations regularly.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get a look at how our community is showing up for each other! Be on the lookout, we have more information coming about ways that you can love your neighbor from home!

We are so grateful for this incredible community and the opportunities that God has given us to come together during this uncertain time. If you have any questions, please contact us!
